Hello!

I'm Martin, and I'm a writer and a digital content producer (and sometimes amateur guitar player) living in Chicago, the city of big shoulders.

I am a freelance writer and artist. I write articles, listicles, and short stories. I digitally produce creative works, including videos, photographs, drawings, and paintings. 

Before transitioning into a freelance career, I worked in education in both secondary and post secondary levels. This phase of my career has offered me an opportunity to share my experience, insight, and creative efforts. My hope is you will find something of value here and in doing so, our souls have the opportunity to enter into a mystical experience which results in a grander acquaintance.

My Story

Born in a small community in the panhandle of Nebraska, I formed my responses to the world forged by the visions and values of a spiritual single mother, a conservative rural community, and my own idealistic dreams.

As I grew older, I began to reject the ideas of the previous generations and many of my contemporaries. I saw myself as part of a wider current of technological, political, and social change. I often seemed to align myself with many of the latest attitudes and behaviors concerning our ever changing world.

Over the course of time, the impact of the sum total of my experience has left me less impressed with the old ideas of what should be, and increasingly aware of the importance of creating a life that leaves the world a better place.

The current era provides a landscape for my lavish attention to concepts that can be (hopefully) instantly understood. A philosophy of universal ideals that share a global message of the human condition and the availability and importance of creativity, now inspire, and what elevates my attitudes and actions as it relates to my purpose, which includes art, art making, writing, and increasing my involvement as a global citizen.
